Gear Review: The Spro RKCrawler 55 is a wide wobbling hunting action crankbait. It dives nine to 14 feet and weighs a 1/2 ounce. It is different from some of your other mid-diving crankbaits because of its wide wobbling action which makes it perfect for getting aggressive strikes.

The Spro RKCrawler comes in a few different sizes also. The RKCrawler 50, 50 DD, 55 MD and the 55. All of these baits excel in the colder months but also have a time and place in the warm months too.

You want to throw this bait on 10 to 14-pound fluorocarbon depending on what depth you want the bait to run. Ideally, this is a great bait around any rip rap banks or rocky points and if you have thrown an RKCrawler enough you already know that. The bait retails for $11.99. Anytime the water is anywhere from the low 50s to the high 60s, especially on highland reservoirs where there are smallmouth and rocky bank this is a go-to staple of mine. I personally have had some amazing days throwing it. I typically throw it on a seven-foot medium-heavy Dobyns Champion crankbait rod with a 6.2:1 Shimano Metanium reel spooled with 10-pound Sunline FC Sniper fluorocarbon.
