West Virginia Hunting and Fishing Show

The West Virginia Trophy Hunters Association will host its annual Hunting and Fishing show on January 20-22 at the Charleston Civic Center. This event is not just popular with locals to the state, but many others travel to see this show from around the state and Tri-State as well. The Hunting and Fishing show is a convention where local companies, stores, vendors and groups gather to showcase what their group shares with the outdoors or what their business offers. Many local fishing brands are in attendance with fishing rods, reels, lures, raffles, and more.

What’s new? The West Virginia Trophy Hunters Association has taken action to try to breathe life back into the show after experiencing much lower attendance than usual since Covid took place. The event is now sponsored by Cabela’s located in South Ridge, West Virginia which creates the opportunity to place a stage in the middle of the convention center. There will be videos and seminars taking place at various times during the event to provide entertainment for those passing by. Some notable guest speakers include Randy Kelly from the WVDNR speaking on the status of elk in West Virginia, David Miller who will be leading a Whitetail Frenzy discussion panel as well as discussing how he tracks big Appalachian bucks as well as myself speaking on college fishing.
